About

Who writes this, and on what basis.

I own an ERA 427 S/C Shelby Cobra and am a member of the Texas Cobra Club. I also work as a B2B marketing executive, and I have been in love with Shelby Cobras, GT40s, and Ford Mustangs since my teenage years. I live in Austin, Texas.

Why this exists

I spent 2+ years researching Shelby Cobra replicas before I purchased my current ERA Shelby Cobra. It was not easy to find information on this market and these cars. Much of the learned information is passed down between owners, and not readily available to new buyers and enthusiasts.

Other serious collector car segments have trust infrastructure. Original Cobras have SAAC. Shelby Mustangs have Marti. Replicas have essentially nothing — no registry, no census anyone can check.

So, I thought, why not continue my research? But this time, not about finding one car, but instead just learning more about the replica market, the companies that build them, and the cars they build. This journal is an attempt to write down what I learn, build a knowledge base, and share it with our replica caretakers.

Editorial independence

This site takes no money from outside advertisers — builders, dealers, vendors, or others. There are no sponsored posts, no affiliate links, no paid placements. It documents what I learn. Where a claim can be sourced, it names the source. Where I cannot verify a claim, I label it unverified.

Corrections are welcome and encouraged. If something here is wrong, the fastest way to fix it is to tell me — roark@roarkpollock.com.
